I spent 25 years running infrastructure for companies with thousands of users: AWS, Terraform, migrations that saved $200K+ a year. Then AI changed what one engineer can ship.

Now I build complete products solo: MDRM IQ, a regulatory intelligence platform used by bank executives; Puente IQ, a bilingual mobile app in the App Store and Play Store; a compliance-approved assessment app for a wealth management firm. I take on a handful of client builds a year, and I write about the method in The One-Man Dev Team.

How I work

Fixed price, written scope. You know the number before the work starts.
Weekly demos on a live URL. Working software every Friday, not a status deck.
The tool detects, the human decides. AI drafts and proposes; thresholds, approval gates, and audit logs are the default, especially in regulated work.
You own everything. Repo, infrastructure, runbook. No lock-in to me.
Ops first. Monitoring, backups, IAM, and cost show up in week one, not after launch.

Based in Texas. Remote by default across US time zones; on-site in Texas when it helps.

600+ servers across a hybrid cloud. AI ticket-resolution system (80% reduction in daily helpdesk volume). Multi-agent legacy documentation platform. Citrix→AWS AppStream migration for 2,000+ users. Five enterprise identity migrations for 7,000+ users. 120+ EOL servers consolidated to under 40.
2021 – present
Cloud Engineer (contract), Valley Tech Services
Rebuilt a corporate cloud from scratch; 100+ instances migrated; security audit surfaced 40,000+ publicly shared documents; $12K+/mo in unnecessary services cut. Designed 30+ cloud labs used by 8,000+ CompTIA Cloud+ students.
